Sit-in at Qunaitirah Protesting Israeli Sentences Against Syrian Captives Farhat and Shams

Qunaitirah, (SANA) – People of the Qunaitirah governorate organized a sit-in in front of the headquarters of the UN forces in Golan, protesting the unjust Israeli sentences against the Syrian captives Ata Farhat, a reporter of the Syrian Television, and Yousef Shams, Chairman of the Apple Marketing Committee in the occupied Syrian Golan.

Several days ago, Israel sentenced Farhat to 3 years in prison and a USD 6,000 fine, while Shams was sentenced to 4 years and a USD 12,000 fine.

Chairman of the Committee for Supporting Captives and Detainees in Israeli Prisons Ali al-Younis delivered a statement directed to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, calling on the international community and international human rights and legal institutes to pressure Israel to annul these sentences and release the 12 Syrian captives in Israel prisons.
