CAIRO, Jan 27 (KUNA) — The Arab Committee to Monitor Israeli Nuclear Activities that breach the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) on Tuesday said it aimed to reveal Israeli practices on Arab lands that violate international resolutions.
At the end of the committee’s meeting, a leading official told KUNA that the committee stressed on an issue related to the burying of Israeli nuclear waste within Palestinian occupied lands and its effects on the environment and toxic harm to human beings.
For three days the committee also discussed three working papers from Iraq regarding “Israeli strategic partnerships,” from Syria about “Israeli nuclear danger and burying nuclear waste in the Syrian Golan Heights,” and a paper from the Arab League on “Israeli-US nuclear cooperation.” The dangers of Israel’s weapons of mass destruction on Arab national security as well as an Arab position against these threats was also discussed.
The source said that Israel’s policy of nuclear anonymity and the possible use of Uranium in its latest attack on Gaza was another issue on the committee’s list of items.
The committee will raise its proposals to the upcoming Arab Foreign Minister’s meeting in March, the source added. (end) mfm.nwr.sd KUNA 272057 Jan 09NNNN
